Hey guys, just thought id let you know about Virtual CloneDrive from Slysoft, a "proper" working CDRom mounting app for windows 7.
heres the link: [Download]
It a great app, might even be a permanent substitute for alcohol, seeing as i only mostly use it for mounting images.

Turns out Alcohol 120% and Daemon tools are not working due to the SPTD driver not being supported under windows 7 and the devs there have stated they will not do anything to make it support Windows 7 as its still in Beta, pretty stupid if you ask me, as the whole point of publicly releasing the beta was so that these company's are able to build on the new OS and get their shit working before RTM.

Mounting under PowerIso and UltraIso is working, but the programs are not very responsive for me and take a while to load up.
Update: Pismo File Mount is another that works, but only supports a few formats.

I had probs with winmount when trying to mount the C&C First Decade image. It was in mdf format..not ISO. The setup did not run when mounted from winmount.

But worked fine with Virtual Clone Drive :)

ok quick question.. need some help. I have two drives on my computer C:/ (200gig) and D:/ (34g). I installed windows 7 to D and now all new programs and anything i save is going onto D and I am out of room. Is there anyway i can make a change so everything will automatically go to C:/?

Also should i have installed it to C:/ in the first place? if so, how do i uninstall windows 7 from D and reinstall it on C:/
THANKS!!!

Question: Why did you even bother to mount it, as it's not neccessary?
You do realize that unofficial (but still EA endorsed!) patch v1.03 includes NoCD fixes...

Well if you actually read what he posted, he was trying to mount the actual disk so to install the game, not play it.

Word of warning: If any of you guys have installed Virtual CLone Drive on Windows 7 and have been having such issues as getting a blank explorer window when opening a folder or "my computer", such as below

then it is advised to uninstall Virtual CLone Drive to correct the problem or try a newer build.

Oh... "...setup did not run..."? Apparently i was half-sleep at that time...
Then why not install from original DVD and THEN use the patch? :whistling:

Seriously speaking, using beta OS for "unofficial" software is a bad choice.
Other than that, how about trying Alcohol 120% v1.9.8.7612 for .mdf images? ;)
