Vantec posted this on the main page, what do you guys think about it?  Great idea or bust?  Now that people are getting USB drives on their keyrings, is there a niche' in the market for this?

I can see how it will do well, but I wouldn't get one.

Your thoughts?

Give 10% of what you download to charity. It will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I think its a great idea. Personally i think google try to reinvent things and do very well at it. Look at Gmail its an email service like everybody elses like hotmail but for me works so much better. Or google earth, they weren't the first there but personally its the best software for that sort of thing.

So i think it will do very well. Would i get one? im not sure yet.

Usb sticks can be broken, lost and stolen. Imo it will be very handy. If I'd count the times I email a file to myself...

Sounds very interesting, doubt I would use such a service though.

If they don't use all of their space allocated to this I'm sure that Google will find another way to use it.

It is a service by Google right, and they are not bought?
If it is a service, then it would be very risky putting any illegal material on it. Although it is invasion of privacy I am sure somewhere in the terms and conditions they would be given access to look into files if it was suspected of that sort of material.

I dunno, how it is going to work.

of course if google finds illegal stuff in their servers they will ban accounts and delete files blah blah blah but every other uploading site does that (like RS)...

RS just deletes the files then that's it. Nothing happens to the account.
