Name: UFP: Alien Invasion
Genre: Strategy/Turn-Based
Homepage: http://ufoai.sourceforge.net/
Requirements: Processor: 500 MHz, Memory: 128 MB, Video: 32 MB
Various Info:
Your aim in UFO: Alien Invasion is to fight the forces of evil in a world that has turned over a leaf in the next stage of it's evolution.
While war and famine have been virtually eradicated, one major threat remains hanging over mankind - the threat of alien invasion.
UFO: Alien Invasion is a free game rich in background history and strategy.
You have to lead a crack commando team to destroy and investigate the increasingly dangerous extraterrestrial technology which threatens to wipe out the human race.
The game takes the shape of a strategy/shoot-em-up action based thriller which requires a certain amount of guile and map reading ability as well as a quick trigger finger.
The missions are incredibly well thought out and rich in detail and although the graphics aren't exactly stunning, there are some excellent special effects.
It's easy enough however to pick up pretty quickly although to get the most out of the game, you'll have to consult the Wiki which has extensive details of the how to play.

S.W.I.N.E:
SWINE Free Full Game (English Version)
Description: S.W.I.N.E. is a real-time tactical strategy game in which you must carry out extremely varied missions while taking advantage of the terrain and your units’ special abilities. Your army’s abilities and strengths will then develop over the course of the game. Before and during the missions, you will also have the opportunity to purchase or sell units, and upgrade or augment them with various items of equipment. However, this will cost you some of the strategic points (SP) you receive for destroying enemy objects (units, buildings, etc.) and for successfully completing your missions. Further strategical components include the use of the air force and supply trailers (repairs, ammunition, and fuel). Clever exploitation of the terrain, selecting the proper units, and the optimum utilization of your abilities will enable even a small force to do battle against an enemy with numerical superiority.

Midway has released for free The Suffering, allowing you to enjoy the PC version of this horror game developed by Surreal Software. Gamers take on the role of Torque, an inmate who must face much more than his own inner demons and the harsh and gritty reality of death row, as he fights to escape the unleashing of the penitentiary's gruesome secrets in a challenge more terrifying than fighting death itself. The Suffering features ultra-mature content and three distinctly different endings depending upon how you choose to survive.

Great game full of atmosphere. I think the freeware version may be ad-supported. I'm gonna download this too because the original retail game has Starforce protection. :(

EDIT: If you have missing textures ingame then open regedit, go to this key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Surreal\Riot Engine" and delete the value "SettingsDX105".

Jesus, Trackmania is something else!
First of all, it's probably the most frustrating game ever made. I mean jeez.. you fail by an inch and you don't get the gold medal..
I've seen a person lose gold being 0,02 seconds behind. Every tiniest mistake you make means you probably have to start all over again.
Especially when you have 5 laps of painfully treacherous track to go and you manage to hit the wall because of pressing the turn button just 2 milliseconds too early or too late on the 5th lap.. Well.. that just makes you want to go out, get a pint and kick some poor sob's ass.
And since there are 65 of them tracks with various length and painfulness, you probably get really angry at about 50 tracks, a couple of times each..
That's just brutal and inhumane.

On the other hand, the multiplayer kind'a makes up for it. It's fun, you can play even on a really bad link if you don't mind other players glitching around and you are compared to other players as is your country compared to other countries depending on your skills.
That's not all that good, actually, considering the fact that you won't get LadderPoints from most races, because there are some strange rules to getting them.. Something about time and placement.. I played 5 tracks in a row, all of them 4-5th and got 10LP from the last race.
A tad frustrating if you've thousands to go..
The good (and the bad) thing is that many of the servers feature custom maps and you can make your own if you're bored. Some of the custom maps are really cool, but some just make you feel lost and sad. The custom maps keep you from getting tired of driving the same 65 tracks over and over again... Building those maps is relatively easy, but takes some time to test out and make sure it can be beat.

Cool game, really frustrating.
128 medals, 775th in Estonia and 230023th in the world atm.

You just reminded me of this:

Name: South Park Super Mario Bros. 2
Genre: Platform Arcade
Site: http://www.urlplates...ario/index.html
Requirements:
OS: Windows 95/98/NT/2000 <----- works on XP as well, but no idea about Vista
I remember playing this on a 400MHz PII so I guess it's safe to say "a computer".

Info:

Quote

Prepare yourself for SouthPark Mario Bro - Ehanced Edition. Now Bigger and Better than ever! South Park Super Mario Brothers Enhanced Edition featuring Kenny and
other pals from South Park has a mission to save the Princess while kicking a lot
of butt! Now with additional worlds. Think this game is a piece of cake?
Think again, download now to see if you have what it takes to save the princess.

Screenshots:

Trust me, it's impossibly hard to finish this. Especially since it has no save system the last time I played it, haven't tried the Enhanced Edition yet.

It's a bit more than an Eee can handle. Has actual graphics and stuff. Eee-s aren't meant for playing so they don't have any proper hardware for some decent graphics.
I suggest you use a system with a separate GPU to play TM.
