So..I bought a mac recently and i've been a windows user all my life. So far I can do on my macbook everything I did on my pc....but download music.

As for movies, apps and things like that I use azureus...BUT u can´t use azureus to download music...because it doesn't find any. Only entire albums and stuff..

I'm talking about when you want to download that one music by whatever band....

I use to run Ares...but I cant run ares on a mac and I really don't want to use bootcamp, or parallel desktops for now...

Can you suggest a good p2p software? ( not limewire because i read that in every 3 files one has virus or spyware...so not that safe) :(

With uTorrent, and I'm sure that you should be able to do this with azureus as well, you can partially download... meaning that instead of downloading the entire album, you can select what songs you want to download and which ones you don't want to download. There are ways that you can get songs from websites as well. There's a topic on here that tell you how to download songs from google. You can also go to mp3Realm and download songs.

I think he means software that's primarily used for downloading music, such as limewire or kazaa. I don't know any others besides those two, although I don't think that kazaa is used much anymore.

kazaa and limewire are awful...every file u download has spyware or something...

so turns out(as i expected) u cant partial download with azureus. I don't know man...mac users don't download music?!??!?!
as far as movies i use torrents but for music i need something like ares...

I guess my last recourse will be vmare fusion or parallel desktops or something :(

I use transmission for my torrent downloads it is the best and fastest and you can even log on from a web gui in another area

it also allows you to resume torrents just as long as you dont change the folder lol
I might not have alot of posts, but I am watching your every move!!!

Use Acquisition. It is time limited unless you pay for it (1 hour I think) but you can either pay or delete & re-install. I'm sure there are work arounds out there.

Hmm Wine should be able to do that I think. If you can get it installed on Mac OS.

Hope that helps :).

Limewire is the best for P2P. It works the best for downloading single songs quickly. Don't listen to the guys claiming to get spyware, they are using pc's so it's expected.

Transmission is the best BitTorrent client, although it has a beta version and standard version, both with their ups and downs.

I'm happy with my bittorrent client.

About limewire....i read somewhere that a security flaw had been discovered that let to the spread of virus or trojan or whatever for mac...
Limewire doesn't seem secure at all...

I use Transmission for my movies, software and music. If I just want the odd song I just click which of the songs I want to download. If I don't want to download via bittorrent then I either use g2p to find the odd track or the wonderful http://www.b3ta.cr3a...ite/music-plus/ or the many sites like that.

Seriously though for me I find it a lot easier to use Transmission for all of it, each to their own but I am not keen on Limewire etc etc
I am the queen of cute. Hear my rawr - but don't click this :3

Think I'm possibly in the wrong forum for this, but I've started to use iTunes to actually.. get this, PURCHASE my music. :D
It's fairly cheap and if at first I can't find an album in torrent or nzb form I just get it off the iTunes store. It's fast, efficient and fairly cheap if you ask me.
