If you get the Logitech, or either rather - Don't pay over $60US.

But i would add this is my second Habu mouse as the first one developed a habit of double clicking when i only single clicked, or if i tried to click and drag it would just click on and off. Very annoying.

I use a Logitech MX Revolution atm.. A great wireless mouse. All of the 13 buttons mappable, too.
Not meant for gaming, but works great, no lag or anything.. and all the freedom of movement

Been using a Razer mouse for the last 4 years (Diamondback right now) and have to say they are rock solid, built well, super sensitive, tons of buttons and configurations.. I dunno about the Logitech line, never really tried anything else after finding Razer mice, probably never will, they are built for games.

Uh, the G9 is supreme IMO. Razer's mice look plain IMO, are loud, and just not for me...
I have the G9, and although initially its looks may turn you off buying one, you *WILL* love it after a little bit of use. The shape is meant to be in your hand, not the generic shape mice that Razer use... c'mon, be different from everyone else
Has a load of features, excellent [adjustable on the fly] sensitivity and weights to get the mouse precisely the way you like it if you feel the urge... has 2 browser back + forward buttons which are VERY handy for web surfing. THe scroll wheel has 2 physical modes... notches and free. Free is better for documents or long web pages whereas notched is far better for gaming and small docs.
It also has a profile on the bottom of the mouse to switch between configs on the fly... and has programmable mouse buttons.
Go for the G9 with a Razer eXactMat w/ eXactRest: totally awesome combo [that mousepad is SWEET and has 2 different textures - speed + control

* Use your mouse for about an hour and then think about what you dont like in it
* And then think about what features you want in a mouse
* Make a list of the above items (Like Glow,Macro,Dp,Cool grip).
* See which one matches your needs or find other mouses
You need to do this because you can buy a very expensive mouse with many features you will not use.
I think it's stupid to select between 2 mouses who are very expensive or newest models.
But if you have already done the above mentioned and you can't just decide between these 2 good models i would say:
Lachesis=if you are a Hardcore Gamer who wants to make his computer more glow in the dark.
G9=if you are a Casual gamer.
P.S i have a Microsoft Sidewinder and a Logitech G15 keyboard
Hope this helps

i have the Lachesis. Won't ever return to Logitech's flaky drivers. I switched to Razer a few years ago and I haven't looked back since. btw, their exactmat is essential to getting the best performance from the Razer mice. it took me awhile to find what I like, but so far Razer does it for me.

Have a look at this website:

My style is a combination of the claw and wrist-pivot styles. A large or ergonomic mouse therefore would never work for me. A smaller, basic office-style mouse suits me, but different strokes for different folks.
I hope that helps you decide.

Hmm so basically an employer would recognise a gamer based on how he holds his mouse... Scary! I use claw grip style too.

However i have a problem with the scroller. It tends to scroll down sometimes after i scroll up. This is very irritating when you want to scroll up a page cos it keeps getting scrolled back to the bottom
btw thanks all of you guys for the thoughts and info.....
